AltSpotter acts as a high-speed search and organization engine for dialogue editors, allowing them to index production sound files and utilize BWAV metadata to locate alternate takes and usable fill. It features powerful transcription capabilities using either Apple transcription or Whisper, enabling users to search for specific lines of dialogue, scenes, or characters within their projects. The software facilitates deep integration with Pro Tools, offering features like direct clip spotting with handles, phase synchronization, and the ability to rebuild assembly sequences from AAF, PTX, or EDL files. By automating the alignment of source files against editorial references, it significantly reduces the time spent manually scouring sound rolls for matching audio.
